Parent Enrichment Place
Parent Enrichment Place is part of the CAFE Idlewild Program, enriching families as a whole by not only serving children, but also giving parents the tools to weather life's challenges with resilience and courage. The saying, "It takes a village", maybe an old one, but it's true. Let CAFE Idlewild be part of your village.
Parent Enrichment Place offers free individual and couples counseling for parents with children of any age. As adults, we can struggle to contain our emotions and impulses, and sometimes, it seems too hard to cheer ourselves up after a disappointment. Each of these have to do with our self-regulation, which is essential for our emotional maturity, social connections, and parenting. Luckily, even as adults, our brains still have the ability to grow and change in positive ways. And that’s where counseling can help.
Individuals and/or couples may choose to seek counseling services for help with parenting challenges, personal hardships in their own life experiences, co-parenting issues, effective communication, and many others. How do you decide if couples counseling is for you? Typically in couples counseling, the relationship becomes the primary focus, so if there is an issue that you and your partner want to tackle together, couples counseling may be for you. A degree of commitment is necessary.
Please note that we do not provide counseling services to children at this time.
